Outline of procedure

1. Fill in the Host Family Application Form, the completed Work Schedule and the parent’s agreement. You can send them on line or print the forms and send them to us, with a signed and dated copy of Term and Conditions.  We also need some Family Photographs, an introduction letter for the attention of a prospective au pair and a cheque or postal order for the full placement fee to the Secret Garden.

2. We will send you information on a prospective applicant, once we find the right match for you, we will contact you.

3. If you are interested in the prospective au pair girl’s file, we will send her file and we will ask you to telephone the girl to introduce yourselves, get to know her better and we will discuss her working times etc.

4. 24 hours after the phone call you will call the Secret Garden Agency to confirm the placement (only if she is booking her flight). The placement fees are cashed only after the au pair has booked her flight.

5. The family will collect the au pair from the airport or seaport.

Should The Secret Garden Agency be unable to provide you with a file of a prospective au pair, your cheque will be returned to you upon notification of cancellation. However, once the file of a prospective applicant has been sent out or faxed to you, the registration fee of 45 euro becomes payable immediately and your cheque is cashed. The registration fee is non-refundable even if the placement never materialises and is deducted from your refund.
